Designed by CTRL Space, Mother Grey Lynn is a beautifully considered hospitality environment where every material and detail has been thoughtfully resolved. Mother has quickly become a Grey Lynn hot spot and a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Auckland’s hospitality scene.

Targetti worked closely alongside the CTRL Space team to ensure the lighting design seamlessly complemented the architecture and delivered on the client’s expectations for a warm, adaptable atmosphere. Our approach remained intentionally minimal, using IBL Warm-Dim architectural lighting throughout the venue. Small, unobtrusive fittings allow the colour temperature to shift smoothly from 1800K to 3000K, creating a flexible lighting environment suited to both daytime and evening service.

This warm-dim technology extends through every layer. From architectural downlights and spotlights to the custom 40mm pendant lights, colour-matched to the ceiling for a cohesive appearance. Subtle LED strip lighting was integrated behind the joinery to softly wash the walls, enhancing natural textures and providing depth without visible light sources.

The result is a cohesive, atmospheric hospitality lighting scheme that compliments CTRL Space’s design vision, enhancing the architecture while delivering the warm, flexible environment the client envisioned.
